MacMillan & Co. Ltd. 1st ed1944. Nearly fine condition in a very good dustwrapper. Light brown pictorial cloth. B/w illustrations. 1st edition, in 1st issue dustwrapper (7/6 with 'd' - slightly shorter that '6'). Very light bumping to spine and corners. Contents are really excellent! Pictorial wrapper has 1" closed tear to spine at top of rear panel. 0.5" split to same line on dustwrapper at base. Very light chipping along top and tail of spine of wrapper. Wrapper is still lovely and bright. A fantastic copy of the 1st edition!

Hodder & Stoughton. 1st ed 1948. Very good condition in a dustwrapper in fair condition. Blue cloth, black titles. Blue/black pictorial endpapers. B/w and two-tone illustrations to text. 192 pages. Top and tail of spine faded. Light ink mark to spine, which is generally faded. Marks to covers. Pictorial wrapper is torn with loss approx. 1" in pieces from top and bottom of spine and front panel.

Hodder & Stoughton. 1st ed1946. Good condition in a dustwrapper in fair condition. Blue cloth. Green and white pictoral endpapers. Colour frontis. Two-colour and b/w illustrations. Spine is very browned, covers are grubby with browning and yellow motttle marks. Numbers in ink to front pastedown. Name to front endpaper. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Foxing to outer page edges. A little browning to pages. Pictorial wrapper has front flap torn off (and missing), bottom 2" of spine missing, other chips of loss along wrapper edges - damp marks to wrapper spine. Picture to front panel still pretty much complete.

George Newnes Ltd. 1st ed 1943. Very good condition in a good dustwrapper. Red cloth, gilt title to spine and front cover. B/w text illustrations. 184 pages. The 2nd book of the adventures of Jo, Bessie, Fanny and Dick in the queer lands at the top of the Faraway Tree. Red covers are slightly faded. Corners have minor bumps. Small patch of surface damage to front pastedown and front endpaper. Name in ink to front endpaper. A couple of pages have light margin marks. Pictorial wrapper is NOT price-cut, but is heavily creased with minor chipping and 8mm loss to bottom of spine. Front and rear wrapper folds have large closed tears (approx. 11cm to front and 5cm to rear).
