Smuggler Ben was really a fisherboy who loved pretending to be a smuggler. Orange cloth, red titles and small vignette to front cover. Tower House Series. Written under the name of Mary Pollock, a pseudonym of Enid Blyton. Top & tail of spine shelf worn with slight fading to base of spine. Blue sticker stuck to front pastedown and inscription in ink to front endpaper. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few small chips, loss to base of spine.

Yellow cloth with blue titles and vignette to front cover. Full colour frontis. Two-tone and 3 colour illustrations throughout. First story is 'Off With the Adventurous Four Again!'. Also includes 'The Faraway Tree'. Spine bumped and slightly browned, pinhole above title. Corners bumped. Foxing, mainly to text block. Contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn with loss from top of spine and folds. Slightly grubby, spine a little darkened. Some browning to verso.

Australian Edition. Blue cloth, dark blue titles to front and spine. 192 pages. B/w text illustrations throughout. Spine and corners bumped. Slight curve to front cover. Endpapers lightly browned and foxed. Pale page browning else contents clean. There is a slight crease to the edge of some of the pages. Dustwrapper is worn and grubby with loss, tape repairs on verso. A circular label has been removed from the front panel causing some surface paper damage.

Spine bumped, worn and faded. Split to rear edge of spine. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges worn. Covers a little marked. Both joints and several hinges cracked. Endpapers lightly browned. Frontis has been re-inserted in wrong place. Foxing to page edges. Mark to rear endpaper.

Small hole near base of front fold. Spine, folds and verso browned. Rear panel slightly grubby. Foxing to verso.

An odd fingermark to contents and a few light fox spots to text block. Completed with unused birthday insert illustrated by Nixon which has fingermark to lower margin. Contained in an original posting box which has one flap missing and is grubby and marked.
